Burgerstein uses speciality extracts for its products, and CardioVital is no exception. We use the garlic extract ABG-25+® and the olive extract Hytolive® for our product. 

The black garlic extract used in Burgerstein CardioVital is odourless and tasteless. Thus, no effects such as evaporation, gastrointestinal problems, etc. are expected.

What makes CardioVital so special?

Black garlic

Black garlic is not a separate plant species, but the common white garlic (Allium-sativum). The bulb gets its black colour from a special fermentation process. This is odourless and tasteless after fermentation & contains the active ingredient S-allylcysteine. There are numerous indications that garlic has a positive influence on blood pressure and cholesterol. The ingredient "S-allylcysteine" supports the reduction of cardiovascular risk.

Olive extract with 10% hydroxytyrosol

Hydroxytyrosol belongs to the group of polyphenols, has the highest bioavailability of all olive oil components and the highest ORAC value (stands for the ability to absorb oxygen radicals), thus is characterized by strong anti-oxidant properties. The ingredient hydroxytyrosol supports the improvement of blood lipid levels and anti-inflammatory activity.

Hydroxytyrosol improves blood flow by inhibiting platelet aggregation, and thus has anti-thrombotic and cardioprotective activity.[1, 2, 3] Hydroxytyrosol is further active in the brain, where it protects neurons from oxidation, increases the potential of the mitochondrial membrane, and thus causes greater reactivity of brain cells.[4]
